Rev. Willie Lyle grew up in the Sango community. He attended the old Sango Elementary school and then went to East Montgomery Elementary when it first opened. He graduated from Clarksville High school in 1978 and attended Austin Peay State University and Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta. Rev. Lyle has been in ministry with the United Methodist Church since 2006. He was the recipient of the prestigious Harry Denman Evangelism award from The Foundation for Evangelism in his first year of full time ministry. Rev. Lyle has a heart for sharing Christ with all people. If you see him in a store he most likely will invite you to worship with him before you part. Church growth is extremely important to him but not just numerically. Spiritual growth through prayer, study and service are close to his heart as well.
Rev. Lyle has been married to Suzette for 32 years and they have 8 children and 6 grand children. He enjoys sports, horses and the outdoors. Recently he purchased a ping pong table and foosball table. About once or twice a week there is a big tournament at his house with his family and anyone else is always welcome to play. Drop by the house on Sunday afternoon and have some fun.
