The following are missions of love, support, and mercy that are on-going
at Sango United Methodist Church. If you would like more information
on any of these programs, please contact Peggy Sensing, Church Secretary,
at peggy@sangoumc.org or
358-2552. She can provide contact information for the coordinators
of these mission and outreach projects.
FUEL
It is a sad truth that many children in our own community do not
have enough food to eat. Although the school system provides free
and reduced meal plans for these children, they are unable to serve
the children during the weekend. The FUEL program provides healthy
food and snacks to help children bridge the gap between the school
week. Our partner school is Sango Elementary for whom we currently
prepare between 15 and 20 FUEL bags per week.
Room in the Inn
During the late Fall and Winter months of the year, Sango United
Methodist Church joins in ministry with many other churches in the
local area to provide shelter for the homeless. Utilizing the Christian
Life Center facilities, guests are provided with a hot meal and
a place to shower and sleep. Entertainment and Bible studies are
also provided.
Special Projects
Many special mission projects are sponsored throughout the year
by various ministry areas. For instance, the Sango Scamper (Road
Race) supports Habitat for Humanity and the Craft Fair supports
Clarksville's
Dream Factory.
